Example Projects:

$100M Catalog/e-commerce Business
A publicly traded specialty retailer engaged us to review a privately held catalog/e-commerce business. In the course of a three-week period, one week on the target company’s premises, we developed a comprehensive review of strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats and bottoms-up assumptions-based financial projections. The company was acquired and has exceeded our performance projections.

$75M Catalog/e-commerce/Retail Business
A private equity group engaged us at the auction stage to assess the likely future performance of a three-channel apparel business asking us to specifically comment on its probability of meeting fourth-quarter projections. The engagement required about two weeks and included a short site visit. We concluded the target company would not meet its fourth-quarter projections. It did not meet its fourth-quarter projections, and our client did not acquire the business.

$2B European Financial Services Business
A major investment banking firm engaged us in the final stages of an auction for a European-based financial services direct marketing business. We were given less than a week to review their assessment of the target company as well as the inputs from their other advisors. We had only a day’s access to the target company management. In chalk-talk fashion, we were able to present our clients with a coherent argument for caution. They were not the winning bidder. They have engaged us since that time on two other potential deals, which suggests they were satisfied with our work.

$180M Business to Business Catalog
A major office supplies business engaged us for a comprehensive due diligence of an acquisition of an office supplies cataloger of scale. The review included all aspects of the business, potential synergies, opportunities for growth and improving productivity. The acquisition has been a success and a portion of the success could be attributed to the productivity initiatives we identified and helped implement.
